My 21ST Superstar ★ Birthday!

Yupyup! Like how the title suggest it, Im 21! and definitely love my birthday celebration. Filled with people I love and people I care about :) Celebrated my birthday early on the 20th, one week in advance from the actual day, 28th. It may be a tad too early, but thats prolly the only time i have since its the exam week (year end exams are spoilers cos they always hover round my birthday). Ohwells, time to brace it instead of condemning it. Theme of the celebration was none other than; SUPERSTAR!

Nicely blinged on the cover of my scrapbook. finished with a bimbotic pink princess crown at the corner. Have always felt that stars and crown were very very intrinsic designs. Starting to grow onto the crown design. haha.

Gloomy clouds covered the sky that Saturday. It rained like crazy that day. So much for hoping it wouldnt rain. and best of all, it rained exactly around 5 straight to about 7.30. and because of the rain, there was a little delay in the celebration i guess? everything was pushed back a little as the place was quite inacessable on rainy days i must say. 

Anyway, I'll walk the talk of pictures on the way...! and pictures were taking all over the place from facebook instagram whatsapp camera, everywhere and anywhere. Sengkew Sengkew everyone for taking pictures capturing every moments. i realize i hardly have any pictures taken from my phone. sadly.  

This was the layout of the place. So surreal and so unimaginable that I would be sitting the midst having my dinner. I had thoughts of how the layout would be, but then again reaching there first hand and looking at the place was a total different feeling. Feels as if Ive managed to plan an event! hiak hiak.  

As i reached, there laid this loooong table so ready to be filled with guests. and the balloons definitely brightened up the whole atmosphere. Gold and silver balloons to match the superstar theme as much a possible. 

AWWWW. isnt the whole place presuming so luo-man-ti-ca?! haha!

It was sucha life threatening battle to get the balloons and i almost gave up the idea of having them because of the rain. It was so inaccessible to transport the balloons to the car and the rain was just a burden. Nevertheless, glad i decided to get them cos they really did make a difference. 

Didnt manage to bring them home because the helium could only last up to 8 hrs and aft that it would be game over for the balloons. It would be quite depressing to see all these balloons wither and die at home. I'd rather leave them there happy, with the impression that they would still be floating forever.

am really not a person who can keep up with deco designing. but this time round was an exception. the balloons did a good job beatifying the night. 

Not bad! Was well pursuded by friends to get some balloons for decos else the atmosphere could be quite boring and plain to deal with. 

Paper weights that were in sync with the superstar theme. they look perfect just on the table as a deco. not bad idea at all!

These are some snapshots of the food there. The food was good i must say! ordered their smoked duck breast carbonara. Superb and awesome. Linguine tossed in Cream Sauce with Hickory smoked Duck breast and Chicken fillet. The smoked duck was double awesomeness. Wouldnt mind going there again for their pasta. The ribs were pretty good too!

Their starters were'nt that bad as well. Just that, i only managed to have one small portion of the buffalo wings and then i was busy walking around talking to people already. So! these are some pictures of the foodie foodies!

NOMMERZZZ. All their pastas are good i must say. However, I cant seem to find the picture of my smoked duck pasta. sad! 

The playcard with my face filled on it back and front! its a card with the seating arrangement in it. So that I wouldnt have to fret about who sits where on the day itself. Aint it innovative and creative?! haha! i was just using this opportunity to make myself a card with my faces on it cos it seems quite cool when I made cards for my friends with their faces on it. haha! yupyup! it also shows the changes in hairstyles i have and the different areas i have been throughout my life. 

 I dont think anyone can the stand the annoyance of me with a card full of my face. Just imagine me sitting down in front of microsoft powerpoint clicking my face away and twitching them to perfection to fit into a powerpoint slide. Just imagine how mundane that can be.

 the first friend who braved the crazy storm and arrived! 

SHIHSING! she was so amazing to brave the storm and run through the heavy rain. I was already wrapped up in a jacket and slippers all ready to pick her outta her cab. but no. she proved her bravery by running in the rain! yupyup thats shihsing whom i got to know at my first job in my whole entire life. Its been about 6 years now i guess?? so glad that she and Gina could make it!

Soon later, everyone started to arrive bunch by bunch. so glad that this could be a time where friends could catch up with each other. We are all too busy with school and work. Too many different schedules and deadlines to meet. Since they cant find time to meet, i shall be the one who finds time for them to meet! haha!

Friends from internship! From all the crappy moments we've been through during our internship till now, that we are done with internship, we are still together! we are growing into a bunch of elegant taitais that only goes for taitai activities such as dimsum and more. More to come in the future! They are sucha bunch of ON people and times spent with them are to fun. Be it cycling, dimsuming,or geocacheing.

Le me, so happy that im not afriad to expose my round face that is quite comparable to the golden balloon i was holding. Lemme enjoy the existence of the balloon before they deflate and wither. 

CUT-CAKE-TIMEE!

The cake was much much much real than how i pictured to be. HAPPY! It was quite a tough deciding what cake design to make. A pandora cake wasnt the first time that came in to my mind actually. there were many different idea that popped into my mind. I call this, the mind incubation in the creative process of thinking what cake design to have. hehehe. Letting the subconscious mind to flow and thinking out of the box having creative ideas that could be completely out of reach. hehe.  

It was a panicky moment when the candles starting melting at a super fast pase. Had to quickly sing the birthday song to match the speed of the melting candles. and make a wish and and snap pictures and and take more piccas!

With the marmie who can easily pass off as my older sister some people say. Im not sure if thats a good thing or not! but then again, the mum mum and i totally look like copy and paste many people say. Yeah, i do see similarities in some of my pictures as well. hahah!

My hair can get messier somemore. partially due to getting drenched in the rain. and therefore; such messy and unbearable hair. but still! a happy me with my pandora box! although i look totally calmed and composed holding that piece of fondant. it was actually quick slippery and soft that i had to grip it tighter. it smelt soooo sweet but totally unedible.

Really amazed and  like how real and neatly arranged the pandora word is. and how cleanly white the box is. Im officially falling for white color!! Tha cake flavour was yellow velvet. hehe. sounds super super cool eh?? its lemon flavored cake! Wanted a flavor that was fruity and not chocolaty afterall since it was after a heavy meal. Would love to try the blue velvet cake too unfortunately could only come in one flavor.

 

Each charm on the cake has its significant meaning. There were more to it, but i removed some in the end. Hope ill be able to get more of these charms in time to come! esp the angel charm, love it extraordinarily muchie! 

Growing onto the golden crown charm as well. actually... im practically growing onto all the charms i picked out for this cake. no exception!

  

 

All these charms are actually edible. but no one actually eats them. its wayyyy to sweet to be eaten. Love how detailed each of them are, that i can easily make out what charms they are without thinking back what designs i have sent to customise. 

Cant bare to throw them away! all of them are currenly resting im my freezer. Ask my mum if i can keep them in the freezer for as long as possible. Seriously cannot imagine the day i have to part with them and throw it away.... (getting a little emotional here, haha!)

The #ootd or #wiwd for that night. Taken way before the crowd reached. Was trying my best to walk around swiftly to that i could "dry" myself as much as possible. whats missing is that, I'm wearing my brother's slippers instead of my heels.

My nails that oddly didnt seem like any ordinary nail design. Love how surprisingly odd the crystals fit into my nails and stands out. Its quite amazing how nail polish can now turn into art as well. Had to remove them right aft the celebration else i would be staring at my nails instead of studying. bling bling nails can be quite distracting. haha.

Awww. the cheeky us!

I used to not understand why people must must must celebrate their 21st birthday. Or at least make it a known one. People always ask me how im gonna celebrate my 21st and will feel rather reluctant to reply cos i dont understand the big deal of celebrating a birthday. The thought of having to think of a place and cake already seemed like a big hustle. Until one of my friend told me,"21st birthday must celebrate. after that all the 22 23 24 birthdays would just be normal birthdays!!" which did seem quite true in a way...

Started thinking about possible places to celebrate. Didnt want a chalet or a function room kinda thing. I cant handle the amount of people that would be walking all over the place. really. Was also racing against time to find a suitable venue and to find my cake. Am really happy for everyone that turned up and hope all enjoyed the food and ambiance. It was just like how i wanted, a dinner with friends and family. 

A big shout out to all my friends who braved the storm and came down. Hope we meet again soon in time to come. Thank you for all the presents and thank thank you for making my 21st birthday a complete one.

Wowwwww. what a breathtaking post that took me close to 4 hours to let my thoughts flow. then again satisfied this post! wellrounded from head to toe. :D 

Did i mention? this post got deleted once luckily i had it backed up in mircosoft words. cos i had a feeling some crap would happen. hehe. toldcha my 6th sense was really really accurate! Sat through this post with the aid of this sinful meal right before me. NOMNOMZ
